学校前身为1978年创建的遵义机械工业技工学校，2016年经贵州省政府批准升格为航空制造类专科层次职业院校，2020年更名为现名。办学定位聚焦"服务航空产业、培育工匠人才"，形成"中职-高职-企业订单班"贯通培养体系。
